Hugo Le Brigand ~
Hugo Le Brigand explores dance as a platform for creative encounters and collaboration with a diverse range of artists, including Doris Uhlich, Alix Eynaudi, Sebastiano Sing, Daniela Georgieva, Ulduz Ahmadzadeh, and Ari Benjamin Meyers. Since 2014, he has been a regular collaborator with Doris Uhlich, contributing as a performer, coach, and rehearsal director across various projects. His work with Alix Eynaudi began with her choreographic piece BRUNO, and he will soon be featured in her upcoming creation, Death By Landscape. Hugo also performs with Tanztheater Sing in the piece MATHIEU and is slated to appear in the company’s upcoming production, MILAN.
Hugo's collaboration with Daniela Georgieva includes performances in works such as destination_paradise, blank memory of absence, FLUSCIA, and their duet 270206. In 2023, Ulduz Ahmadzadeh invited Hugo to join the tour of TARAB, and in 2024, he worked with Ari Benjamin Meyers on his large-scale performance Nation of Sleep at the Steirischer Herbst festival.
Hugo's career has taken him to international stages and festivals, including Festival Santiago a Mil in Chile (2018), the Seoul Street Art Festival in South Korea (2019), the Impulstanz Festival in Vienna (2017), and Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales in Paris (2017).
Alongside his dancing career, Hugo teaches contemporary dance at Public Moves by ImPulsTanz, RAUM für TANZ Vienna and Tanzquartier Wien.
Hugo Le Brigand studied at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, UK, and the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria. He also holds a bachelor's degree in history from Rennes II University, France. In the summer of 2017, he was selected for danceWEB: the scholarship program for dancers and emerging choreographers at ImPulsTanz Festival, Vienna. In 2018, he received the START scholarship for Music and Performing Arts from the Austrian Federal Chancellor’s Office. Most recently, in 2023, he was awarded the TanzQuartier Wien scholarships for Body & Performance Practices, and in 2025, he received the City of Vienna's Scholarship for Performing Arts - Performance.

Hugo Le Brigand erforscht den Tanz als Plattform für kreative Begegnungen und Zusammenarbeit mit einer Vielzahl von Künstlern, darunter Doris Uhlich, Alix Eynaudi, Sebastiano Sing, Daniela Georgieva, Ulduz Ahmadzadeh und Ari Benjamin Meyers. Seit 2014 arbeitet er regelmäßig mit Doris Uhlich zusammen und trägt als Performer, Coach und Probenleiter zu verschiedenen Projekten bei. Seine Arbeit mit Alix Eynaudi begann mit ihrem choreografischen Stück BRUNO, und bald wird er in ihrer kommenden Kreation Death By Landscape zu sehen sein. Hugo tritt auch mit dem Tanztheater Sing in dem Stück MATHIEU auf und wird in der kommenden Produktion MILAN zu sehen sein.
Hugos Zusammenarbeit mit Daniela Georgieva umfasst Auftritte in Werken wie destination_paradise, blank memory of absence, FLUSCIA und ihrem Duett 270206. Im Jahr 2023 wurde Hugo von Ulduz Ahmadzadeh eingeladen, an der Tournee von TARAB teilzunehmen, und 2024 arbeitete er mit Ari Benjamin Meyers an dessen groß angelegter Performance Nation of Sleep beim Festival Steirischer Herbst.

Er hat außerdem einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Geschichte von der Universität Rennes II, Frankreich. Im Sommer 2017 wurde er für danceWEB ausgewählt: das Stipendienprogramm für Tänzer und aufstrebende Choreographen beim ImPulsTanz Festival, Wien. 2018 erhielt er das START-Stipendium für Musik und Darstellende Kunst des österreichischen Bundeskanzleramtes. Zuletzt erhielt er 2023 das TanzQuartier Wien Stipendium für Body & Performance Practices und 2025 das Stipendium der Stadt Wien für Darstellende Kunst - Performance.
