1994

Video realized by Hekate Film Collective

2021, HD ,1’20’’

In 1994 we see a soft and sensitive encounter between the performer Sebastiano Sing and a shiny silver military whistle. A personal object, which signifies the first time the performer heard about HIV/AIDS. 1994 is the year in which AIDS became the leading cause of death for all Americans ages 25 to 44, and the year in which the performer first learned about the disease. Being confronted with homophobia and the fear of death from his early childhood on, this video performance creates, in a fast paste advertisement style, a lust- and playful counter narrative of being HIV positive.

Premiere May 5th 2021 at Theater Rampe in the frame of Gefährliche Körper
